Knife Attack In Homosassa Woods: Suspect In Custody

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) has apprehended a suspect in connection with an early morning stabbing that occurred Tuesday in Homosassa.

At approximately 3:00 a.m., CCSO deputies responded to reports of a disturbance in a wooded area near the intersection of Fishbowl Drive and Halls River Road. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered that a verbal argument between two individuals had turned violent, leaving one person with stab wounds.

The victim was immediately transported to a medical facility in Ocala for treatment. Authorities have confirmed that the victim is currently in stable condition and is being treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Following an investigation by Detective Ramon Rivera of the CCSO Criminal Investigations Division, law enforcement identified 25-year-old Jacob Earl Keefer as the suspect.

Keefer, who is reportedly an acquaintance of the victim, was located and taken into custody without incident after probable cause was established and an arrest warrant was issued. The warrant charges Keefer with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon without the Intent to Kill.

“This swift arrest is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our deputies and detectives,” stated Sheriff Vincent. “Thanks to their efforts, we were able to quickly apprehend the suspect and ensure the safety of our community.”

Jacob Earl Keefer is currently being held at the Citrus County Detention Facility, and no bond has been set.
