ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – A two-vehicle accident on North Indiana Avenue in Englewood on Wednesday evening resulted in one fatality and closed a portion of the roadway for several hours as authorities conducted an investigation.
According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 8:56 PM at 70 North Indiana Avenue.

The SCSO assisted the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) at the scene of the crash. Both directions of travel on Indiana Avenue between Dearborn Street and Perry Street were closed to traffic while the FHP conducted its on-scene investigation.
Details regarding the identity of the deceased individual and the circumstances surrounding the crash have not yet been released, pending the ongoing investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
All roadways have been reopened.
