TAMPA, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has filed additional charges against a man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in North Tampa nearly a year ago.

Terrance Robinson, 34, who was initially arrested as an accessory, is now facing charges of Robbery and First-Degree Felony Murder for his alleged role in the incident.

The investigation stems from a shooting that took place on June 17, 2024. Just before 3 p.m. that day, deputies responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire in the roadway near the intersection of Regents Park Drive and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. Upon arrival, deputies discovered an adult male who was deceased at the scene.

Terrance Robinson was first taken into custody on July 23, 2024, and charged with accessory after the fact in connection with the homicide.

However, an extensive and ongoing investigation by HCSO detectives has reportedly uncovered new evidence that alters the scope of Robinson’s alleged involvement. This evidence, according to the Sheriff’s Office, confirms Robinson’s participation in events leading directly up to the shooting.

As a result of these findings, Robinson’s charges have been upgraded to include Robbery and First-Degree Felony Murder.

Robinson was taken into custody by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office on May 8, 2025, and is currently awaiting extradition back to Hillsborough County to face the new charges.

“This individual thought he could avoid accountability, but our detectives remained relentless. Violent acts like this will never be tolerated in Hillsborough County,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “I hope this arrest brings some measure of peace to the victim’s loved ones, knowing justice is being served.”
