Two Nebraska Fugitives Wanted For Shooting A Man Arrested In St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Two women sought by authorities in Nebraska in connection with a recent shooting were apprehended in St. Petersburg on Thursday, May 8, 2025, following assistance from local detectives.

St. Petersburg Police detectives collaborated with the U.S. Marshals Service to locate Elyssia Ochoa, 32, and Malorie Rogers, 36, who were wanted for shooting and injuring a man in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

Acting on information regarding their whereabouts, officers executed a search warrant at a residence located at 773 42 Avenue South in St. Petersburg on Thursday. Ochoa and Rogers were taken into custody at the scene without incident.

In addition to being held on the outstanding arrest warrants stemming from the shooting incident in Nebraska, both women are now facing local charges in Florida based on discoveries made during their arrest.

Elyssia Ochoa has been charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, involving approximately 45.4 grams of the drug. Malorie Rogers faces a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Both are being held in custody in Pinellas County and are expected to face extradition proceedings to Nebraska to answer for the shooting charges, in addition to addressing the new local drug-related offenses.
