The Florida Lottery announced Friday that Lucinda Joseph-Rann, a 54-year-old resident of Jacksonville, has claimed a $5 million top prize from the popular $5,000,000 CROSSWORD CASH Scratch-Off game.
Joseph-Rann chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment totaling $3,262,138.00. She presented her winning ticket at the Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
The winning ticket was purchased at Gate Petroleum Company, located at 60 Airport Center Drive in Jacksonville. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

The $5,000,000 CROSSWORD CASH game is a $20 Scratch-Off that offers players the chance to win up to $5 million instantly. This word-themed game boasts over $239.6 million in total cash prizes, including four top prizes of $5 million. The overall odds of winning any prize in the game are 1 in 2.9.
Scratch-Off games continue to be a significant driver of revenue for the Florida Lottery, accounting for approximately 74 percent of ticket sales in the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
Since their inception, Scratch-Off games have awarded over $65.5 billion in prizes and created 2,283 millionaires. Importantly, these games have also generated more than $19.80 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF), supporting educational initiatives throughout Florida.
