MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A 41-year-old Hallandale Beach man was arrested Saturday following an incident at a Big Pine Key motel where he allegedly threatened a woman with a firearm and physically assaulted her.
John Fitzpatrick was taken into custody and faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, battery, committing an unnatural or lascivious act, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the Big Pine Motel at approximately 1 a.m. Friday, regarding a woman who feared she was about to be shot.

The adult female victim told investigators she was in a vehicle in the parking lot with Fitzpatrick when he reportedly displayed a gun and told her he was dangerous. The victim stated that Fitzpatrick then allegedly grabbed her breasts, tore her dress, and grabbed her wrist as she attempted to get away from him and exit the vehicle.
Upon arrival, deputies located Fitzpatrick. As he was being taken into custody, he reportedly pulled away from a deputy and attempted to flee. A loaded handgun was found in his possession when he was apprehended.
Fitzpatrick was transported to the Monroe County Jail following his arrest.
