LARGO, Fla. – Authorities have released the identities of the two individuals who tragically died in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Orangeview Drive and Ridge Road. The victims were identified as 10-year-old Jabari Elijah Solomon and 4-year-old Charlie Herbert Solomon Riveria.
The collision, which occurred around 1:45 p.m., involved a southbound Durango and a Kia Soul making a left turn. In addition to the two fatalities, several other occupants sustained serious injuries and were transported to local hospitals.
Ridge Road, which had been closed between Ulmerton Road and 8th Avenue North for several hours following the incident, has since been reopened to traffic.
Investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The Largo Police Traffic Homicide Unit is continuing its active investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
ORIGINAL REPORT: Two people were killed and several others sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Largo. The collision occurred around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of Orangeview Drive and Ridge Road.
According to preliminary information from the Largo Police Department, a southbound Durango collided with a Kia Soul that was attempting to make a left turn.
The impact resulted in the deaths of two people. Several other occupants from the vehicles were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries.

Investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Authorities have shut down Ridge Road between Ulmerton Road and 8th Avenue North, asking motorists to avoid the area and seek alternate routes for several hours as the investigation continues.
The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
The Largo Police Traffic Homicide Unit is on the scene and conducting the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. No further information is available at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
