Murder Suspect David Thurman Added To South West Florida Crime Stoppers 10 Most Wanted List

South West Florida Crime Stoppers has announced the addition of David Thurman, a suspect in a recent homicide, to its 10 Most Wanted list. Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Thurman, who is wanted on a charge of second-degree homicide.

Thurman is sought in connection with the murder of Vely Jean-Pierre, which happened on March 16th on Braman Avenue in Fort Myers.

Described by Crime Stoppers as a career criminal, Thurman has a record dating back to 1987, including 24 previous bookings in Lee County. His past offenses include serious charges such as assault on a law enforcement officer, the sale and delivery of cocaine, burglary, fraud, and theft.

He has served seven stints in prison, collectively consuming nearly 18 years of his life.

Detectives with the Fort Myers Police Department and the United States Marshals Service are actively searching for Thurman. They believe he is currently transient in the area and is aware that he is wanted, actively working to avoid apprehension.
