The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) has issued a scathing statement regarding Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair David Hogg, accusing him of “self-aggrandizing attention-grabbing” and “grifter” behavior.
This comes amidst reports of internal DNC discord and calls for a potential new election to replace Hogg.
Hogg, a prominent gun control advocate, has rapidly become a “pain in the political neck” within the Democratic Party, according to CCRKBA.

The organization’s Managing Director, Andrew Gottlieb, asserted that Hogg’s actions have sparked a “civil war” within the party, referencing veteran strategist James Carville’s attempts to mitigate the public fallout.
The controversy stems from Hogg’s announcement of plans to allocate $20 million towards primarying incumbent Democratic lawmakers in safe congressional districts, aiming to attract younger activists.
Gottlieb criticized this move, stating, “His agenda is about him, not the party he pretends to serve, or the lives lost to armed criminals and crazy people who ignore existing gun laws and will get around any new laws he demands.”
The CCRKBA further accused Hogg of being a “mouthpiece for the gun prohibition movement,” alleging that such movements profit from gun-related violence. “The more serious the mayhem, the more sensational headlines and thus the more money they can raise by promising an end to violence by restricting the rights of law-abiding citizens,” Gottlieb stated.

The organization dismissed the DNC’s procedural concerns as a “flimsy sham effort” to mask their growing frustration with Hogg’s “juvenile political behavior” and “grandstanding.”
“Clearly,” Gottlieb said, “Hogg’s my-way-or-the-highway approach and his willingness to throw his elders under the nearest bus has not gone over well with party leaders. With him, it’s ‘all about Hogg,’ so he has quickly worn out whatever welcome he may have had. He forgets that change is guided by big men, not big mouths.”
The internal debate highlights a growing tension within the Democratic Party regarding generational shifts and strategic direction.
