TAMPA, Fla. – A West Tampa residence was damaged by fire Monday afternoon after a tree fire quickly spread to the home. Tampa Fire Rescue (TFR) crews responded to the blaze on the 1000 block of W. La Salle St. at approximately 4:52 PM.

Multiple 911 calls flooded the dispatch center, reporting a tree fire. Upon arrival, the first engine company encountered a single-story residential structure with visible smoke and flames coming from the rear of the building.

Firefighters initiated a coordinated attack on the fire. Primary and secondary searches of the residence were completed to ensure the safety of any potential occupants, confirming that no one was inside the home at the time of the incident.

The fire was brought under control within 35 minutes. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to either civilians or firefighters at the scene.

TFR fire investigators were on site following the extinguishment of the flames and are currently working to determine the cause of the fire. The investigation remains ongoing.
