SARASOTA, Fla. – Five Miami men have been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident in April 2023 that claimed the life of a Sarasota man, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office announced today. The incident stemmed from a large-scale catalytic converter theft operation targeting local businesses.
Samuel Rosemond, 22, Antonio Carbonell, 38, Allen Hunt, 29, and Micheal Trillo, 22, are each facing charges of Second Degree Felony Murder, multiple counts of Burglary Unoccupied Structure, Grand Theft, and Traveling to Commit a Burglary. Edwin Norris, 31, has been charged with Felony Murder, Hit-and-Run, and twenty counts of Traveling to Commit a Burglary.
According to investigators, in April 2023, the five defendants traveled from Miami to Sarasota with the intent of stealing catalytic converters from work vehicles.

Their targets included All Glass and Windows (AGW) and Arrow Environmental Services. During the crime spree, 22 catalytic converters, estimated to be worth $94,000, were stolen.
Deputies were alerted to an in-progress burglary at AGW. As law enforcement was en route to the scene, the suspects fled in a dark-colored Audi. The fleeing vehicle ran a red light, colliding with a motorcycle driven by 21-year-old Leonardo Adams. The Audi then fled the crash site without stopping to render aid. The vehicle was later discovered abandoned on the shoulder of I-75 near Fruitville Road.
Through a subsequent investigation, Edwin Norris was identified as the driver of the Audi, with Allen Hunt, Micheal Trillo, and Samuel Rosemond identified as passengers. Antonio Carbonell was observed driving a secondary vehicle in connection with the theft operation.
