Florida Man Indicted For Threatening Federal Officer

ORLANDO, Fla. – United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe today announced the indictment of Tranard Dell, 21, of Port Orange, on charges of influencing, impeding, and interfering with a federal official by threat to murder.

Dell faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison if convicted.

According to the indictment, on April 24, 2025, Dell allegedly threatened to murder a federal law enforcement officer identified in the indictment as J.E.

The indictment states that this threat was made while the officer was “engaged in the performance of official duties.”

The investigation into this case was spearheaded by the United States Secret Service, with significant assistance provided by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office and the Port Orange Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Risha Asokan will prosecute the case.
