Lithia Motorcyclist Dies In Dade City Crash After Losing Control, Entering Oncoming Traffic

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A 37-year-old Lithia man died Wednesday morning after losing control of his motorcycle and colliding with an oncoming SUV on Bellamy Brothers Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 8:16 AM at the intersection of Bayhead Road.

FHP investigators report the motorcyclist was operating a Honda motorcycle northbound on Bellamy Brothers Boulevard. As he attempted to make a left turn onto Bayhead Road, he lost control of the motorcycle and was separated from the vehicle.

The rider subsequently slid into the southbound lanes of Bellamy Brothers Boulevard and into the direct path of a Hyundai SUV. The SUV, driven by a 32-year-old Brooksville man, struck the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the Hyundai SUV and his two female passengers, aged 24 and five, were not injured in the collision.
