U.S. Senators Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) and Ted Cruz (R-TX), along with 25 Republican colleagues, have introduced a resolution to designate June as “Life Month.” The resolution aims to commemorate the Supreme Court’s decision in June 2022 to overturn Roe v. Wade.
“Ever since I got to Washington, I have been a champion for the unborn. If we are going to dedicate entire months to recognizing every group under the sun, the least we can do is dedicate June to protecting the most vulnerable among us,” Senator Tuberville stated, “Now that Republicans control the White House, Senate, and House, we have to send a strong message: Republicans are the party that stands up for life.”

The proposed resolution, titled the “Life Month Resolution,” states that the United States was founded on the principle that all people are endowed with unalienable rights, including the right to life.
It emphasizes that “every human life is inherently precious, has equal dignity and worth, and deserves legal protection.”
The resolution further notes the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision, which “rightfully returned to the people of the United States and their elected representatives the ability to protect innocent unborn life.”
The resolution calls upon the Senate and House of Representatives to annually designate a “Life Month” to “recognize that every human life is a sacred gift from God, possessing inherent dignity and worth,” and to “reaffirm the fundamental truth recognized in the Declaration of Independence that life is an unalienable right.”

It also commends individuals and organizations that “promote a culture of life” and urges policymakers to “defend the sanctity of human life by enacting laws that protect the unborn and provide resources to empower women and families to choose life.” Sources
