NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – A three-story home in New Port Richey was destroyed by a two-alarm fire Thursday afternoon, though thankfully, no injuries were reported. Pasco County Fire Rescue (PCFR) crews battled intense flames and smoke, leading to a near-total collapse of the upper floors and roof.
PCFR responded to reports of a working structure fire just before 2 p.m. on June 5 at a residence in the 5000 block of West Shore Drive. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames engulfing the multi-story home.

As crews worked to bring the blaze under control, the conditions inside the structure deteriorated rapidly. The intensity of the fire resulted in the near-total collapse of both the second and third floors, as well as the roof.
Authorities confirmed that one woman and one child were inside the home when the fire broke out, but they managed to evacuate safely. No injuries to residents or emergency personnel were reported.
Firefighters continued to monitor the scene overnight to ensure no rekindling, and no additional issues were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Pasco County Fire Rescue.
