BRANDON, Fla. – Drivers that take the direct route from the eastbound SR 618 (Selmon Expressway) to northbound I-75 will need to plan for a detour this Sunday and Monday night. A temporary closure of this critical ramp is scheduled to take place nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, and Monday, June 9, weather permitting.

The closure is necessary to facilitate ongoing concrete pavement repairs on I-75, a project spanning from Progress Boulevard to Woodberry Road in Hillsborough County.

Motorists requiring access to northbound I-75 during these hours will be redirected along a clearly marked detour route. Drivers should exit the Selmon Expressway at Exit 14, turn left onto Falkenburg Road, then turn right onto SR 60, and proceed towards the northbound I-75 entrance ramp.

Electronic message boards and clear signage will be in place to guide motorists through the affected area. Authorities urge all drivers to exercise caution, reduce speeds, and remain vigilant for construction workers while navigating the work zone.

This temporary inconvenience is part of the broader effort to maintain and improve the vital I-75 corridor, ensuring safer and smoother travel for the region.
