POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 37-year-old Bartow man, Jabbar Bryant, was apprehended late Thursday night, June 5th, by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) after being sought in connection with multiple incidents, including robbery and domestic violence.

Bryant’s arrest came after deputies located his silver Honda at approximately 11:10 p.m. at a Circle K convenience store located at 8324 US 98 North in Lakeland. Authorities had been searching for Bryant in connection with an incident earlier that day near Auburndale, where he was accused of stealing a phone and approximately $400 in cash from an acquaintance’s residence.

In addition to the PCSO’s charges, the Auburndale Police Department had also filed charges against Bryant stemming from an incident on May 30th. Their investigation revealed that Bryant allegedly held the same victim against her will in a vehicle near Love’s Travel Stop, repeatedly punching her and stealing her cell phone when she attempted to call 911.

Upon his capture, deputies found Bryant to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. He reportedly attempted to ingest the methamphetamine as deputies moved in. Bryant claimed to deputies that someone had broken into his car and planted the illegal substances.
