The Trump administration has escalated its response to surging anti-ICE protests and violence, announcing the deployment of 2,000 National Guardsmen to Los Angeles. This move comes as “Border Czar” Tom Homan and Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons issue stern warnings to protesters and Democratic politicians, particularly those threatening to “dox” federal agents.
The White House, through Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, confirmed the deployment on Saturday. “In recent days, violent mobs have attacked ICE Officers and Federal Law Enforcement Agents carrying out basic deportation operations in Los Angeles, California,” Leavitt stated. She emphasized that “These operations are essential to halting and reversing the invasion of illegal criminals into the United States.”

Leavitt sharply criticized California’s leadership, asserting, “In the wake of this violence, California’s feckless Democrat leaders have completely abdicated their responsibility to protect their citizens. That is why President Trump has signed a Presidential Memorandum deploying 2,000 National Guardsmen to address the lawlessness that has been allowed to fester.”
The White House press secretary underscored the administration’s “zero tolerance policy for criminal behavior and violence, especially when that violence is aimed at law enforcement officers trying to do their jobs. These criminals will be arrested and swiftly brought to justice. The Commander-in-Chief will ensure the laws of the United States are executed fully and completely.”
Prior to the National Guard announcement, “Border Czar” Tom Homan appeared on Fox News’ ‘The Big Weekend Show,’ maintaining a firm stance on ICE’s unwavering commitment to enforcement. Homan addressed the escalating unrest, including clashes outside a Home Depot where ICE vehicles were damaged and arrests were made.

“Look, we’re gonna continue doing our job,” Homan declared, emphasizing that recent operations involved executing criminal warrants. “They’re not going to shut us down. We’re out there right now. Doing operation. We’re going to keep doing operations. We brought in more resources to push back to protesters.”
Homan also issued a direct warning to those engaging in violence: “You can protest all you want. You got hands on officers or destroy property, you will be prosecuted. There’s zero tolerance on crossing that line.”
His comments on potential National Guard deployment earlier in the day were a precursor to the White House’s official announcement.
