CLEARWATER, Fla. – The city of Clearwater, in collaboration with the Clearwater Urban Leadership Coalition, is proud to announce a three-day celebration in honor of Juneteenth, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. The festivities will span from Sunday, June 15, to Thursday, June 19, offering a diverse range of events for the community.
The celebration commences on Sunday, June 15, at 2 p.m. with “The Gospel Experience: Special Father’s Day Edition” at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church’s Matheos Hall, located at 409 S. Old Coachman Road. This special event will feature a heartfelt tribute to fathers with the all-male Suited for Sunday Fashion Showcase.
The Tri-County Fellowship Gospel Choir, along with some of Tampa Bay’s most gifted musicians, will provide a soulful musical backdrop. A meal catered by 1st Lady Catering is included with the $20 admission ticket.

On Monday, June 16, at 1 p.m., the public is invited to a free “Lunch and Learn” at the Countryside Library, 2642 Sabal Springs Drive. Dr. Anthony E. Dixon will deliver an engaging and insightful presentation on the significance of African American Freedom Day. Refreshments will be provided, and registration can be completed at https://myclearwaterlibrary.librarymarket.com/event/Juneteenth.
The three-day celebration will conclude on Thursday, June 19, at 6 p.m. with the popular “Painting with a Purpose” event at the Artz 4 Life Academy, 1751 Kings Highway. Attendees will have the opportunity to express their creativity on canvas while enjoying an evening of food, wine, music, and fellowship. Tickets are priced at $20 and include all necessary supplies, drinks, and refreshments. Due to high demand, early registration is encouraged.

In observance of the Juneteenth holiday, Clearwater city offices, libraries, and some recreation centers will be closed on Thursday, June 19. However, solid waste and recycling collection schedules will remain unchanged.
