ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A teen motorcyclist has died following a fatal collision early this morning at the intersection of Park Street N and 28th Avenue N.
The crash occurred around 1:30 AM when a Mazda SUV, traveling westbound on 28th Avenue N, made a southbound turn onto Park Street N, directly into the path of a northbound Kawasaki motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, identified as 19-year-old Mason Derks, was critically injured in the crash. He was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His next of kin has been notified.
The driver of the Mazda SUV remained at the scene of the accident and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
