CLEARWATER, Fla. – Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a critical water rescue call this evening on Sand Key, where an adult male was pulled from the Intracoastal Waterway with possible life-threatening injuries.
The emergency call was received at 6:09 p.m., originating from an area just north of the Clearwater Sailing Center. Bystanders at the scene are credited with initially pulling the man from the water and immediately initiating CPR.

Upon their arrival, Clearwater Fire & Rescue personnel took over the life-saving efforts. The unidentified male was subsequently transported to Morton Plant Hospital.
No further information regarding the victim’s identity or the circumstances leading to the incident is available at this time. Authorities continue to investigate.
