Rutgers Professors Rally Behind Black Professor Who Proclaimed “We Got To Take These Motherf—-rs out”

Hate crimes against white people hit a 20-year high in 2020, according to a report by a conservative news website.

The Washington Examiner reported on Monday that the FBI documented 1,072 anti-white hate crimes last year — the most since the 1,088 recorded in 2000.

“These hate crimes tend to go under the radar because the media, politicians, pundits, academicians, and other ‘experts’ tend to play up such stories only when they advance a leftist narrative about the ubiquity and danger of white supremacy,” the Examiner noted.

“The fact that more and more white people are being targeted for violence comes as no surprise. The popular woke message nowadays is that they deserve it.” [emphasis original]

The Examiner cited as an example of the people who promote such anti-white hatred Brittney Cooper, a black associate professor at Rutgers University’s Department of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies.

Late last month, news reports revealed comments Cooper gave in a September interview with The Root, whose militant motto is “the blacker the content the sweeter the truth.”

She declared that white people are “corrupt” and “committed to being villains in the aggregate.” Accordingly, she added, “The thing I want to say to you is we got to take these motherf—ers out.”

Cooper tried to downplay the implicit suggestion in her comments by saying that she doesn’t believe in a “project of violence.”

Sure.

The quickest way to understand why these comments are as racist as they are wrong is to simply reverse the races, and imagine a white college professor telling Fox News that “we got to take these motherf—ers out.”

And it wasn’t like Cooper didn’t marble those remarks with more anti-white contempt.

As The College Fix noted, Cooper followed that alleged advocacy of nonviolence by saying, the view of whiteness “totally skews our view of everything.”

And she added that African and indigenous peoples were “brilliant” and “vibrant” before “white people showed up being raggedy and violent and terrible and trying to take everything from everybody.”

Despite her prejudice, Cooper has defenders, and in their view, she is the victim of racism, not its perpetuator.

The Fix noted two different faculty groups rallied behind Cooper.

The American Association of University Professors expressed its “unequivocal solidarity” with Cooper because she has come “under a renewed wave of racist attacks for her public scholarship.” The group also decried the “harassment and intimidation she now faces, including threats of physical violence fueled by a media smear campaign.”

The group did not provide specifics or examples, but added, “This smear campaign” – which by the way is engineered by a “bad-faith media disinformation campaign” that only quoted what she said – “is not only an attack on her scholarly integrity but has incited threats to her physical safety. This represents a clear assault on academic freedom.”

Meanwhile, Rutgers’ Black, Indigenous, and People of Color Faculty Caucus also issued a statement. The group asserted that the “attacks” on Cooper were “part of a larger campaign of disinformation aimed at destroying social justice activism and anti-racist education, and […] reflect a historic pattern that transmutes white anxieties about the loss of hegemony into anti-Black violence.”

“We urge the Rutgers administration and community to reject the politics of white grievance and fear and to embrace the courageous vision of justice and commitment to institutional transformation that grounds the work of Professor Cooper and the other members of the BIPOC Faculty Caucus,” the group added.
