LAKELAND, Fla. – A Lakeland man faces up to 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to firearms trafficking, announced United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe. Larry Anthony Brame, II, 44, entered the guilty plea in federal court. A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.
According to the plea agreement, between June and August 2023, Brame acquired a Glock 23 .40 caliber pistol and a DPMS Panther Arms AR-15 rifle. Court documents reveal Brame later sold these firearms with the knowledge that the purchaser intended to smuggle them into Canada.

Further details from the plea agreement indicate that Brame purchased the Glock 23 from a firearms store in Clearwater. During this transaction, he falsified information on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Form 4473.
Brame falsely stated on the form that he was the actual transferee of the firearm, despite having obtained it to transfer it to another individual to smuggle it to Canada.
The investigation also revealed that Brame was aware of the purchaser’s plans to obliterate the firearms’ serial numbers before illegally transporting them across the Canadian border. During the sale, Brame reportedly offered advice on methods to smuggle the weapons without detection by law enforcement.
