Ramon Morales-Reyes, a Mexican national with an extensive criminal record who allegedly threatened the life of President Donald Trump, “will not get away with his actions” and will be deported, Border Czar Tom Homan stated Thursday on Fox News.
Morales-Reyes, 54, was arrested on May 22nd after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported he sent a handwritten letter to the U.S. government. In the letter, he allegedly stated his intent to self-deport only after shooting President Trump with a “30 yard 6” firearm.

Speaking on “America’s Newsroom,” Homan described Morales-Reyes’ alleged threat as “foolish” and confirmed he is currently detained.
“He’ll be removed. I mean, he’s exactly the priority that President Trump has us focusing on, public safety threats. And he has a significant criminal history,” Homan said. He added that the Secret Service is investigating the threat, which will likely result in additional criminal charges for Morales-Reyes. “We’ll detain him and as soon as he gets out, he’ll be deported.”
Homan noted the difficulty Morales-Reyes would face if he attempted to return to the U.S. after deportation.
“Every single border agent is on the line now defending that [southern] border, along with DOD on the border by the thousands,” Homan explained. “So he’s gonna have a hell of a time coming back, but if he does, that’s a felony reentry charge. We will quickly detain him and charge him with a felony … he will serve even more prison time. He’s not gonna win this.”

The DHS confirmed the arrest on Wednesday. In a statement, an ICE field intelligence officer reportedly received the disturbing letter from Morales-Reyes on May 21st.
“Thanks to our ICE officers, this illegal alien who threatened to assassinate President Trump is behind bars,” said DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.
Noem also issued a warning regarding escalating threats against the President: “This threat comes not even a year after President Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, and less than two weeks after former FBI Director Comey called for the President’s assassination. All politicians and members of the media should take notice of these repeated attempts on President Trump’s life and tone down their rhetoric. I will continue to take all measures necessary to ensure the protection of President Trump.”
