Border Czar Tom Homan issued a blunt warning Tuesday on “The Ingraham Angle,” asserting that the ongoing “vilification” of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol agents by some congressional members is fueling a dangerous climate that could result in agents or protesters losing their lives.
His comments come amid escalating tensions surrounding immigration enforcement, particularly following President Donald Trump’s vow of mass deportations.
The heated rhetoric and public protests against immigration agents have intensified, with Fox host Laura Ingraham highlighting the challenges ICE agents face during public arrests.

Homan directly linked the political condemnation to a rise in animosity towards law enforcement.
“It is disgusting. A lot of our congressional representatives who are vilifying ICE and the Border Patrol every day. They’re driving this hate. I’m telling you, it’s only a matter of time before there’s an incident where an ICE agent is going to have to take a life or an ICE agent is going to lose a life,” Homan stated.
Homan vehemently defended the actions of ICE and Border Patrol under the Trump administration, citing significant successes in border security and public safety.
“Under President Trump, since he’s been back, let me tell you what ICE and the Border Patrol has done,” Homan continued. “They gave us the most secure border in the history of this nation. Fentanyl trafficking is down over 50%, which means we’re saving lives from overdose deaths. Sex trafficking in women and children is down significantly. Migrant death, over 4,000 aliens died making the journey. They’re not dying because they’re not coming.”

Recent events underscore the rising animosity. Last Friday, ICE agents conducting operations in San Diego, California, were surrounded by protesters who, according to Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, “verbally harassed ICE agents, pounded on car windows, and even blocked roadways to prevent ICE from leaving.”
This incident followed a chaotic protest at an ICE detention center in New Jersey, where three Democrat lawmakers and a Democrat mayor participated, leading to Democrat New Jersey Rep. LaMonica McIver being charged with assaulting law enforcement officers.
Homan laid out the critical role of ICE in protecting American communities, pointing to data on arrests and removals.
“A quarter million Americans died from fentanyl. Again, fentanyl is under half of what was coming across. President Trump is saving lives,” Homan asserted. “The men and women of ICE are saving lives every day. If you look at the numbers, the numbers don’t lie. The majority of people ICE are arresting are criminal illegal aliens, public safety threats.”

He further lamented the perceived societal shift where law enforcement is demonized while those who break the law are seen as victims. “The world’s upside down when the guy that carries the badge and gun [is] the bad guy, and the ones who break the law are the victims. It’s just terrible. It’s upside down. It’s just incredible,” Homan expressed.
During the first 100 days of President Donald J. Trump’s second term, ICE has reported major enforcement actions, arresting 66,463 illegal aliens and removing 65,682, prioritizing those with criminal records.
Acting ICE Director Todd M. Lyons said that “Three in four arrests were criminal illegal aliens, putting the worst first.”
Lyons detailed the criminal records of those arrested, including 9,639 for assaults, 6,398 for DWIs or DUIs, and 1,479 for weapon offenses.
He also noted the arrest of 2,288 gang members from various groups and 1,329 individuals accused or convicted of sex offenses, along with 498 accused or convicted of murder.

“The brave men and women of ICE protect our families, friends, and neighbors by removing public safety and national security threats from our communities,” Lyons stated.
ICE has intensified its efforts with the help of state and local law enforcement agencies through the 287(g) Program, boasting 579 pending and signed agreements nationwide, with 444 new agreements since January 20.
Additionally, ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) has focused on worksite enforcement operations, arresting over 1,000 illegal workers and proposing over $1 million in fines against businesses that exploit and hire illegal workers since January 20. Deputy Director Madison D. Sheahan highlighted a recent HSI operation that disrupted a human smuggling ring responsible for bringing hundreds of unvetted illegal aliens into the U.S. annually.
“Our communities are becoming safer each day thanks to President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership,” Sheahan concluded.
