Boyfriend, Girlfriend Charged After Man Found Dead On Florida Highway

Two arrests have been made in connection with the fatal stabbing of 35-year-old Richard Francis Vincent Pepe of Vero Beach. Pepe was discovered unresponsive and covered in blood late Saturday night along the 26000 block of Martin Highway. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

Martin County detectives executed a search warrant early Tuesday morning at a residence in the 14,000 block of NW 300th Street in Okeechobee. This operation led to the apprehension of two individuals.

Jacob Robert Allen Stevens, 34, has been charged with First-Degree Premeditated Murder. His girlfriend, 39-year-old Meagon Nicole Brown, faces a charge of First Degree Murder Accessory After the Fact.

Detectives stress that the investigation remains active and ongoing. Investigators are continuing to interview numerous witnesses and collect statements from individuals acquainted with both the victim and the suspects.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who attended a large gathering at Plant Bamboo, or was in the vicinity of the incident and possesses additional information about this murder, or who may have witnessed any altercation in the area that night, to contact their Criminal Investigations Division at 772-220-7060.
