BRADENTON, Fla. – Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue units quickly brought a building fire under control this evening at 6716 26th Street West, preventing potential injuries and further extensive damage.
Emergency crews were dispatched at 5:24 PM after reports of a structure fire. Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue responded with a significant complement of resources, including six engines, one ladder truck, one battalion chief, and multiple support staff.
They were assisted on the scene by Manatee County Emergency Medical Services and the Southern Manatee Fire District.

Within four minutes of receiving the call, fire crews arrived to find visible smoke and flames emanating from the roof ridgeline and soffit area of the building. Firefighters immediately launched an aggressive fire attack and initiated a search of the premises. Fortunately, all occupants were reported to be safely outside and uninjured prior to the arrival of emergency services.
The rapid response and concerted efforts of the firefighting teams proved effective, with the fire reported extinguished within 30 minutes of units arriving on scene. No injuries to responders were reported during the incident.

While the fire was successfully contained, the building sustained an estimated $500,000.00 in property and contents damage. The cause of the fire has been identified as undetermined at this time and remains under investigation.
