CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – Motorists in Citrus County should prepare for daytime and nighttime lane closures on several major roadways next week due to ongoing construction and maintenance activities, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

These closures will affect travel on US 19, US 41, and SR 44. Drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly and exercise caution in the work zones.

US 19: Commuters and residents traveling on US 19 between S. Jump Court and W. Fort Island Trail can expect significant disruptions. FDOT has scheduled daytime lane closures from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., starting Monday, May 19, and continuing through Friday, May 23.

Additionally, nighttime lane closures on the same stretch of US 19 will be in effect from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., beginning Sunday, May 18, and lasting through Thursday, May 22 nights. Motorists should anticipate potential delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible during these times.

US 41: Travelers using US 41 between SR 44 and the area south of the bridge over the Withlacoochee State Trail should be aware of lane closures and flagging operations scheduled for Wednesday, May 21, and Thursday, May 22 nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. These nighttime operations may cause temporary stops and slower traffic flow.
