CLEARWATER, Fla. – With the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season officially underway since June 1, the City of Clearwater is taking proactive steps to ensure its residents are ready for potential storms.

The city has announced a comprehensive Hurricane Preparedness Expo scheduled for Friday, June 21, from 9 a.m. to noon at Coachman Park, located at 300 Cleveland St.

Following a 2024 season that saw two hurricanes impact Clearwater, city officials emphasize the critical importance of preparedness for the current season, which runs through November 30. The expo aims to equip residents with the knowledge and resources necessary to navigate hurricane threats.

Representatives from various Clearwater city departments will be on hand to assist residents. Attendees will have the opportunity to determine if their homes are located in a flood or evacuation zone, sign up for a barrier island re-entry permit, and receive a free hurricane preparedness toolkit.

In a collaborative effort, several key community partners will also be present, including the State of Florida, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, and Pinellas County Emergency Management. These organizations will provide valuable information and resources to enhance community resilience.

The event is designed to be family-friendly and cater to all ages. Children can look forward to engaging activities, while a “touch-a-truck” event featuring a variety of city vehicles promises to be a popular attraction for young and old alike.
