CLEARWATER, Fla. – In observance of Arbor Day and as part of Earth Month celebrations, the city of Clearwater is set to host a free tree giveaway for residents on Saturday, April 26, 2025. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Clearwater Public Services Complex, located at 1650 N. Arcturas Ave.
Clearwater residents are invited to pick up to two complimentary Florida-native trees on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. This initiative aims to bolster environmental sustainability efforts, expand Clearwater’s urban tree canopy, and encourage residents to take actions that promote climate awareness.

Experts will be on hand during the event to provide guidance on tree planting techniques, selecting optimal locations for trees, and offering essential care instructions to ensure successful growth.
“Trees do more than beautify our neighborhoods—they’re vital to our environment and our health,” said Ali Ismailoski, the city’s right-of-way division manager. “This Arbor Day, we’re empowering residents to make a lasting impact in their own yards. By planting native trees, Clearwater residents help cool our city streets, improve air quality and contribute to a healthier, greener community for generations to come.”
Native trees play a crucial role in mitigating climate change by absorbing and storing atmospheric carbon dioxide. Within urban environments, they offer much-needed shade, help reduce stormwater runoff, provide habitat for local wildlife, and contribute to overall personal well-being.
