Dade City Motorcyclist Dies In Early Morning Crash

DADE CITY, Fla. – A 34-year-old Dade City man was killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in the early hours of Monday morning after his vehicle struck a tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal incident occurred at approximately 2:25 a.m. on Blanton Road, just east of Lake Iola Road. Troopers reported that the man was operating a Yamaha motorcycle, traveling westbound on Blanton Road.

According to the FHP report, the motorcyclist failed to successfully negotiate a curve in the roadway. This led to the motorcycle overturning and leaving the paved portion of the road. Once on the shoulder, the motorcycle struck a street sign and then a tree.

The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
