SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – A 22-year-old Dade City man was tragically killed in a motorcycle crash involving a tractor-trailer on Monday, June 2, 2025, in Sumter County. The fatal collision occurred around 5:00 PM on County Road 476B.
According to preliminary reports from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the Dade City man was operating a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and traveling northbound on CR-476B at a high rate of speed. Ahead of him, a tractor-trailer, driven by a 67-year-old Bushnell man, was also heading northbound on CR-476B but was stopped in traffic, waiting to turn onto County Road 631.

Investigators say that the motorcyclist was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision, resulting in the Harley-Davidson striking the rear of the stopped tractor-trailer.
The Dade City man suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash and was pronounced deceased. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not reported to have sustained injuries.
