Dade City Traffic Alert: Martin Luther King Boulevard To Close At US 98 Bypass

DADE CITY, Fla. – Drivers in Dade City are advised of an upcoming road closure that will impact traffic on Martin Luther King (MLK) Boulevard. Starting Sunday, June 1, 2025, MLK Boulevard will be closed on the west side of the US 98 Bypass/US 301.

The closure is scheduled to begin at approximately 7 a.m. on Sunday, June 1, and will remain in effect through Sunday, June 8, 2025, weather permitting. The week-long closure is necessary for crews to prepare the roadway for an upcoming traffic shift on the US 98 Bypass.

Motorists are urged to follow posted detour signs and allow for extra travel time in the affected area.

Detour Information:

For those needing to access southbound US 98 Bypass: Continue south on 7th Street, turn left onto Meridian Avenue (SR 52) heading east, and then turn right onto the US 98 Bypass.

Eastbound MLK Traffic: Motorists traveling eastbound on MLK Boulevard will be directed to turn right onto 5th Street and proceed south. They will then turn left onto Meridian Avenue (SR 52) heading east, followed by a left turn onto the US 98 Bypass northbound. Finally, drivers will turn right to continue eastbound on MLK Boulevard.

For those needing to access southbound US 98 Bypass: From Meridian Avenue (SR 52), turn right onto the US 98 Bypass.

Westbound MLK Traffic: Motorists traveling westbound on MLK Boulevard will be detoured to turn right onto the US 98 Bypass and head north. They will then turn left onto Pond Avenue going west, followed by a left turn onto 7th Street heading south. Finally, drivers will turn right to continue westbound on MLK Boulevard.
