WESTCHASE, Fla. – A 13-year-old student at Davidsen Middle School was arrested today after bringing a knife onto school grounds. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office identified the student as Miguel Figueroa.

School administrators were alerted to the potential threat when they received a tip regarding a student possibly in possession of a weapon. Acting quickly, an administrative search was conducted, leading to the discovery of a knife in Figueroa’s backpack.

Our priority will always be protecting our students and maintaining a safe learning environment.”
