Former Democratic strategist Dan Turrentine appeared on Fox News Thursday to deliver a brutal assessment of former President Joe Biden, calling him “delusional” and “defiant.”

Biden has been doing a string of interviews, including appearances on the BBC and “The View,” to defend his legacy and explain why he dropped out of the 2024 race. During an appearance on “The Ingraham Angle,” Turrentine said Biden is clinging to a narrative that voters have already rejected.

“I think Joe Biden is, frankly, delusional and defiant in what he’s doing right now. He is delusional because, as you guys have both said, the number one problem he had is that voters thought he was too old and that he was mentally declining, and he somehow thinks if he comes out and you just see him and hear from him that he can dispel you of it,” Turrentine said. “I think it reinforces what was a huge problem.”

Turrentine didn’t stop there.

“And, secondly, he is clearly defiant, stubborn old Joe. He wants to relitigate his presidency. In both of these interviews, he said he would have won,” Turrentine said. “He said that he left a great economy, that he had a great immigration bill — it was just Republicans that blocked it — and that he left the world a safer place. And, as a Democrat, it pains me to say he’s wrong on all fronts.”

Turrentine discussed what he said was Biden’s messaging and the absence of forward-looking leadership.

“The voters spoke overwhelmingly, and we ought to be talking about our future, looking to the horizon. Who are our leaders? Right now, we’re leaderless. What agenda can we come up with, and, frankly, even talk about? Instead, we’re talking about Joe Biden’s presidency,” Turrentine added.

In his BBC interview, Biden said Democrats had a “good candidate” in the 2024 race—referring to former Vice President Kamala Harris, who replaced him on the ticket after his disastrous debate performance forced him to exit the race in July. Despite saying Harris is a good candidate, Biden admitted Harris’ loss wasn’t surprising and conceded her defeat to Trump was predictable.

Trump beat Harris by a wide margin in the 2024 election, winning the popular vote and carrying all seven battleground states.
