TAMPA, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has launched a death investigation after a shooting in Tampa early this morning left one man dead and a woman injured. Detectives believe the incident stemmed from an escalating altercation between the two individuals.
Deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of Jeanal Place at approximately 12:25 a.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman outside the residence suffering from a lower-body injury. Inside the home, a man was found deceased with upper body trauma.

The identity of the deceased man is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin. The HCSO has not released further details regarding the condition of the injured woman or potential charges at this time.
The investigation is ongoing, and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is working to piece together the full circumstances leading to the fatal shooting.
