TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Fire Rescue (TFR) crews battled a significant structure fire in the early hours of Thursday morning in North Tampa. At approximately 4:55 AM, emergency responders were dispatched to the 8700 block of N. Hyaleah Rd following reports of a building engulfed in flames.
The first engine to arrive at the scene encountered a vacant and abandoned two-story structure with heavy smoke billowing and flames visible through the roof.
Crews worked for approximately 30 minutes, pouring water onto the inferno, before the fire was under control.

Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time and is currently under active investigation by TFR Fire Investigators.
