TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Fire Rescue (TFR) crews battled a significant structure fire in the early hours of Thursday morning in North Tampa. At approximately 4:55 AM, emergency responders were dispatched to the 8700 block of N. Hyaleah Rd following reports of a building engulfed in flames.

The first engine to arrive at the scene encountered a vacant and abandoned two-story structure with heavy smoke billowing and flames visible through the roof.

Crews worked for approximately 30 minutes, pouring water onto the inferno, before the fire was under control.
