PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County drivers should prepare for significant traffic disruptions next week as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has announced a series of lane closures across major roadways from Saturday, June 15, through Friday, June 21, 2025.
These closures are part of ongoing road construction and improvement projects aimed at enhancing safety and mobility throughout the county.

Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes, allow for extra travel time, and exercise caution in construction zones, where fines for speeding are doubled when workers are present.
Key areas affected by upcoming closures include:
- US 19:
- Approaching and through the San Marco Drive / Johnson Road intersection: Day lane closures are scheduled from Monday, June 16, to Friday, June 20, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Night lane closures will also be in effect from Monday, June 16, to Thursday, June 19, from 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. This is part of a pedestrian safety improvement project adding mid-block crosswalks, traffic signals, and refuge islands, with an estimated completion in Spring 2025.
- Between Elizabeth Avenue and Edna Avenue: Similar to the San Marco Drive intersection, this segment of US 19 will experience day lane closures from Monday, June 16, to Friday, June 20, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and night lane closures from Monday, June 16, to Thursday, June 19, from 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. This is also part of the US 19 pedestrian safety project.

- US 98:
- Between CR 54 and Janmar Road: Periodic lane closures and flagging operations are anticipated from Monday, June 16, to Friday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This section is part of a wider US 98 widening project extending from W Socrum Loop Road to CR 54, with completion expected in early 2028.
- In areas between the Hillsborough River Bridge (about 1.5 miles north of CR 54) and Townsend Road: Periodic night lane closures and flagging operations will occur from Monday, June 16, to Thursday, June 19, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- (Dade City Bypass) from River Road to Martin Luther King Boulevard: The southbound lanes will remain closed and detoured to 7th Street 24 hours per day through approximately October 2025. This is a long-term closure that will significantly impact commutes in Dade City.
- US 41 (Land O’ Lakes Blvd):
- From Willow Bend Parkway / County Line Road to Bell Lake Road: Lane closures are scheduled from Sunday, June 15, to Thursday, June 19, nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. This segment is part of a repaving project on US 41 and SR 54, with US 41 paving recently completed in May 2025.
- SR 54:
- From east of Little Road to Marathon Road: Day lane closures will be in effect from Monday, June 16, to Friday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Night lane closures are also planned from Sunday, June 15, to Friday, June 20, nights from 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. This repaving project is expected to be completed in Spring 2025.
- From west of Virginia City Drive to Old Mill Pond Drive: Lane closures are scheduled from Monday, June 16, to Friday, June 20, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This resurfacing project began in May 2025 and is estimated for completion in early 2026.
- From US 41 to east of Knight Road: Lane closures will occur from Sunday, June 15, to Thursday, June 19, nights from 9 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. This section is also part of the larger US 41 and SR 54 repaving project, with milling and paving operations on SR 54 starting in May 2025.
FDOT emphasizes that these closures are necessary for ongoing construction and maintenance activities. Drivers are encouraged to check real-time traffic updates before traveling and to be mindful of construction personnel and equipment in the work zones.
