FDOT Announces Lane Closures In Hernando And Citrus Counties Week Of June 8 – June 14

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 advises motorists of planned lane closures and traffic impacts in Hernando County and Citrus County for the week of Saturday, June 8, through Friday, June 14, 2025.

These closures are necessary for ongoing construction and maintenance projects.

Drivers are urged to plan ahead, allow for extra travel time, and exercise caution when approaching work zones.

HERNANDO COUNTY LANE CLOSURES:

  • US 98 / SR 50 (Cortez Blvd.) from east of Mondon Hill Rd / Spring Lake Highway to Lockhart Road:
    • Day lane closures: Monday, June 9 – Saturday, June 14, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Night lane closures: Sunday, June 8 – Thursday, June 12 nights, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • SR 50 Cortez Blvd from Mondon Hill Road to South of Jasmine Drive:
    • Lane closure: Monday, June 9 – Friday, June 13, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • SR 50 (Cortez Blvd.) / SR 50 A (W Jefferson Street) / Cobb Road intersection:
    • One lane closed in each direction approaching and through the intersection, 24 hours per day through approximately mid-June 2025.
  • SR 50 Bypass (Cortez Blvd.) from south of the Cobb Road/Cortez Blvd./Jefferson Street intersection to Buck Hope Road:
    • Day lane closures: Monday, June 9 – Friday, June 13, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Night lane closures: Sunday, June 8 – Thursday, June 12 nights, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • SR 50 (Cortez Blvd) from Ridge Manor Boulevard to Riverland Clay Sink Road:
    • Day periodic flagging and brief traffic stops: Monday, June 9 – Friday, June 13, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Night periodic flagging and brief traffic stops: Sunday, June 8 – Thursday, June 12 nights, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

CITRUS COUNTY LANE CLOSURES:

  • US 19 from S. Jump Court to W. Fort Island Trail:
    • Periodic day lane closures: Monday, June 9 – Saturday, June 14, from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
    • Periodic night lane closures: Sunday, June 8 – Thursday, June 12 nights, from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • SR 44 from US 41 to the Sumter County line (bridge over the Withlacoochee River):
    • Around-the-clock lane closures: 7 a.m. Monday, June 9, through 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 13.

Motorists are reminded to:

  • Be aware of road closures and detours.
  • Reduce speeds in work zones.
  • Watch for construction workers and equipment.
  • Allow extra travel time.
