Feds Charge Ocala Woman In TD Bank Heist

OCALA, Fla. – A federal grand jury has indicted Christina Gates Thagard, 40, of Ocala, on charges of bank robbery, United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced today.

Thagard, who was arrested on May 24, 2025, faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison if convicted. She is currently being held without bond as her case proceeds.

According to the indictment, on May 3, 2025, Thagard allegedly “took money belonging to TD Bank by using force, violence, and intimidation.” The bank’s deposits are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

This case was investigated by the Ocala Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Janette Swartzberg will prosecute the case.
