Feds Deliver Knockout Blow To Suspected Drug Ring: Brandon, Tampa Duo Face Life In Prison

TAMPA, Fla. – In a federal operation, authorities have apprehended two alleged major players in a narcotics conspiracy, leading to the arrests of Temeko Evans, 46, of Brandon, and Torrey Taylor, 44, of Tampa.

United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced Thursday that the pair faces an indictment charging them with conspiracy to distribute and the distribution of significant quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine.

If convicted on all counts, both Evans and Taylor face a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years, up to life, in federal prison.

According to the unsealed indictment, authorities allege that Evans and Taylor began their operations in February 2025, continuing their conspiracy to distribute cocaine and 50 grams or more of methamphetamine through March 26, 2025.

The indictment lays out specific alleged acts of distribution: on February 19, 2025, Evans and Taylor are accused of distributing cocaine, and just over a month later, on March 26, 2025, they allegedly distributed 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

The investigation was spearheaded by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Tampa Police Department, showcasing a critical partnership in disrupting the flow of illegal narcotics. Assistant United States Attorney Jeff Chang will lead the prosecution against Evans and Taylor.
