Glen Rogers, 62, a man on death row in Florida for the 1995 murder of Tina Marie Cribbs, was executed by lethal injection Thursday evening at Florida State Prison. In his final moments, Rogers used his last words as a shoutout to the president.
“President Trump, keep making America great. I’m ready to go,” Rogers stated just before the execution began.
Rogers was convicted of the murder of Cribbs, a 34-year-old mother of two, whom he met at a bar. She was later found dead in a Tampa motel room.

The lethal injection proceeded after his statement. Authorities confirmed that Rogers was pronounced dead at 6:16 p.m.
Rogers, who had also received a separate death sentence in California for the 1995 strangulation of Sandra Gallagher, was a suspected serial killer who was once considered in connection with the O.J. Simpson case. Gallagher, a mother of three, was murdered weeks before Cribbs. Rogers was apprehended in Kentucky while driving Cribbs’ vehicle shortly after her death.

While never convicted in other slayings, Rogers had at one point claimed to have killed around 70 people, a statement he later recanted.
His life and the possibility of his involvement in other crimes, including the 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, were explored in a 2012 documentary titled “My Brother the Serial Killer.”
However, the Los Angeles Police Department stated after the documentary’s release that they did not believe Rogers was involved in the Simpson and Goldman killings, asserting they knew who the perpetrator was.
Rogers, originally from Hamilton, Ohio, had been dubbed the “Casanova Killer” or “Cross Country Killer” in media reports, with some of his victims sharing similar characteristics.
According to a Department of Corrections spokesman, Ted Veerman, Rogers awoke at 3:45 a.m. on the day of his execution and later had a visitor. His final meal consisted of pizza, chocolate, and soda.

The U.S. Supreme Court denied Rogers’ final appeals on Wednesday without comment. His lawyers had argued in previous appeals that new state legislation regarding the death penalty for child trafficking indicated a greater seriousness towards childhood abuse, which Rogers reportedly experienced, and should have resulted in a life sentence. These arguments were ultimately unsuccessful.
Rogers became the fifth inmate executed in Florida this year.
The next scheduled execution in Florida is Anthony Wainwright, set for June 10. Wainwright was convicted of the 1994 kidnapping, rape, and murder of a woman in Lake City.
