Daniel Lamppin, a 40-year-old foster parent and restaurant manager, has been arrested and faces 24 counts of sexual battery by a custodian after a lengthy investigation into alleged years-long sexual abuse of children in his care.
According to Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez, the investigation was launched on November 25, 2024, when a now 15-year-old female victim came forward. She alleged that Lamppin, her foster parent, sexually battered her on three occasions and physically abused her once between the ages of 6 and 8.

Authorities uncovered another alleged victim, now an adult, who claimed Lamppin began abusing her within days of her moving into his home at age 16. The alleged abuse reportedly continued for several years.
Lamppin’s foster rights have been suspended following the allegations. Sheriff Lopez confirmed that Lamppin and his wife were participating in a foster care program.
On May 27, Lamppin was booked into the Osceola County Corrections on multiple sexual battery charges.
Sheriff Lopez commended the victims for their courage, stating, “I’m glad these victims are brave and that they came forward.”
