The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) today launched a scathing attack on Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried, accusing her of prioritizing “radical ‘No Kings’ protests” against President Donald Trump over addressing the Democratic Party’s recent electoral losses and perceived “implosion” in the state.

Fried’s embrace of these demonstrations is seen as a glaring example of the Democratic Party’s disconnect from mainstream American values and a calculated attempt to sow division, according to the RPOF.

RPOF Chairman Evan Power released a statement slamming Fried for promoting the nationwide protests, which are reportedly scheduled in over 1,800 U.S. cities, including locations across Florida, on June 14th.

This date, notably, coincides with President Donald Trump’s planned military parade in Washington D.C., the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary celebration, and Trump’s 79th birthday, as well as Flag Day. The timing, for conservatives, is not coincidental but a deliberate effort to overshadow patriotic observances and undermine a sitting president.

“While Nikki Fried is busy supporting far-left radical protests, her party just lost three elections yesterday,” Chairman Power stated, adding, “She’s helped destroy the Florida Democrat Party — it’s now a political graveyard.” This sentiment highlights a conservative belief that the Democratic Party’s focus on progressive activism distracts from the practical concerns of Floridians and alienates a significant portion of the electorate.

The “No Kings Day” rallies, organized by groups like Indivisible, MoveOn, and the Human Rights Campaign, are framed by organizers as a reclamation of patriotism from the GOP, arguing that protesting Trump is “the most patriotic thing you can do.” Indivisible cofounder Ezra Levin stated, “We don’t want to cede the narrative ground to Trump and MAGA that they they own the flag, they own patriotism. In fact, the most patriotic thing you can do (in) America is to show up peacefully and petition your government for something better.”

The RPOF’s press release drew parallels between Fried’s alleged encouragement of the protests and actions taken by California Governor Gavin Newsom, suggesting an attempt to “bring chaos and disruption to our state.” The statement also referenced recent “violent anti-ICE protests” in Los Angeles as a point of concern, underscoring a conservative fear of unrest fueled by such demonstrations.

The RPOF sees the “No Kings” moniker and the organizers’ claims of fighting against a “power grab” as hyperbole designed to incite opposition to a democratically elected president.

Chairman Power unequivocally labeled the “No Kings” protests as “divisive and un-American.”

He asserted that the Democrats’ focus on such demonstrations is why they have “lost Florida.” “They don’t understand that Floridians want safety, not chaos. We want a secure border, law and order, and leaders who respect this country — not those who rally mobs,” Power declared. This reflects core conservative tenets of national security, law and order, and respect for institutions.

President Trump himself issued a stern warning to potential protesters in Washington D.C. on June 10th, stating, “For those people that want to protest, they’re going to be met with very big force. This is people that hate our country, but they will be met with very heavy force.”

While organizers claim to have intentionally avoided a protest in Washington to avert an “anti-veteran” narrative, conservatives often interpret such decisions as a tactical retreat rather than a genuine desire to avoid conflict.

The choice to hold the largest protest in Philadelphia, where the Declaration of Independence was signed, is viewed as a symbolic gesture intended to lend historical legitimacy to their opposition, rather than a true embrace of American unity.

The RPOF also highlighted Governor Ron DeSantis’s commitment to upholding the rule of law, noting his warning that “any violence or vandalism will be met with swift prosecution.” This aligns with conservative principles of maintaining order and swiftly addressing any civil disobedience.

Power concluded by emphasizing Florida’s shift to a “Red state,” citing the significant 1.3 million Republican voter registration advantage over Democrats. “Republicans now outnumber Democrats by 1.3 million because voters are done with this nonsense,” he added.
