Florida Gov. DeSantis Appoints Robens And Weiss To Judicial Posts In Sixth, Seventeenth Circuits

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced Monday the appointment of Mark Robens and Marlon Weiss to judicial positions in Florida’s Sixth and Seventeenth Judicial Circuits, respectively. The appointments fill vacancies left by retiring judges.

Mark Robens, of Dade City, will serve as Judge on the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court. Robens brings a wealth of legal experience to the bench, having been a Partner at Stichter, Riedel, Blain & Postler, PA since 2022. He joined the firm in 2014 and has since established himself as a seasoned legal professional.

Robens earned his bachelor’s degree from St. John Vianney College Seminary and his Juris Doctor from Stetson University. He will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Stearns.

Meanwhile, Marlon Weiss, of Hollywood, has been appointed to serve as Judge on the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court. Weiss has been a Partner at Armstrong Teasdale, LLP since 2021. Prior to that, he served as a Law Clerk for the U.S. District Court, providing him with valuable insight into the judicial process.

Weiss holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor from Emory University. He will fill the judicial vacancy created by the retirement of Chief Judge Tuter.
