A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder and four counts of attempted first-degree murder following a fatal shooting in a St. Cloud mobile home park last month. Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez announced the arrest of Orvill Osorio-Ortiz on Wednesday, May 14th, in connection with the death of 17-year-old Nekko Herrera.
On April 11th, deputies responded to a call regarding a shooting at a mobile home park on Kellchris Lane, and minutes after arriving, the University of Central Florida Hospital contacted authorities to say that Herrera had been pronounced dead.
A second victim was located on the scene and airlifted to another hospital, and underwent emergency surgery. Lopez stated that the second victim is currently in stable condition.

Detectives launched an investigation into the incident and discovered that it originated from a dispute among a group of young adults who were “exchanging texts about an argument over a girl.” The group of men reportedly decided to meet in person to resolve their conflict, at which point Osorio-Ortiz allegedly became involved.
Lopez stated that Osorio-Ortiz armed himself with a Glock-style firearm and “planned an ambush” as he awaited the arrival of the individuals involved in the initial argument. When a vehicle carrying five teenagers drove by, Osorio-Ortiz allegedly opened fire, striking Herrera and the other victim.
According to Lopez, a witness at the scene identified Osorio-Ortiz as the shooter, and evidence collected at the location also reportedly linked him to the crime.
Following their investigation, deputies located Osorio-Ortiz in Pasco County and apprehended him.
In addition to the murder and attempted murder charges, authorities revealed that Osorio-Ortiz was already on probation for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
