Dreams do come true, as a 63-year-old Florida man can attest. The Florida Lottery announced today that Douglas Marbry claimed a massive $1 million prize from the GOLD RUSH LEGACY Scratch-Off game.
He visited Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee to claim his winnings, opting for a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.00.
Marbry’s lucky ticket was purchased at the Circle K located at 4001 N. Wickham Road in Melbourne. For its role in selling the winning ticket, the retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission.

A long-time player of the Florida Lottery, Marbry expressed his excitement, stating, “I’ve been playing the Florida Lottery since the very beginning. Winning now means more than it would have years ago. The timing is just right.”
The $20 GOLD RUSH LEGACY Scratch-Off game, which launched in April 2024, offers players the chance to win big, featuring four top prizes of $10 million and 20 prizes of $1 million. The game boasts over $894 million in total cash prizes and overall odds of winning at 1-in-2.97.

Scratch-Off games continue to be a significant contributor to the Florida Lottery’s success, accounting for approximately 74 percent of ticket sales in the fiscal year 2023-2024. Since its inception, the Lottery’s Scratch-Off games have awarded over $66.9 billion in prizes, created 2,350 millionaires, and generated more than $20.09 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
