LAKELAND, Fla. – Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 71-year-old Frederick Blackwelder, for whom a Florida Purple Alert has been issued.
Mr. Blackwelder was reported missing by a family member who was unable to contact him over the weekend. He was last known to be in the vicinity of the 1500 block of Ariana Street in Lakeland.
He is believed to be traveling in a 2006 silver or grey Toyota Scion tC with Florida license plate number 665-3VY.

Police say Blackwelder is described as a white male, 5’9″ tall, and weighing approximately 211 pounds. He has grey hair and blue eyes.
A Purple Alert is issued for missing adults suffering from a mental or cognitive disability that is not Alzheimer’s disease or a dementia-related disorder.
Anyone with information regarding Mr. Blackwelder’s whereabouts is urged to immediately contact the Lakeland Police Department’s Emergency Communications Center at 863-834-6966.
