A long-term substitute teacher in Marion County was arrested last week on multiple charges related to child sexual abuse material, prompting authorities to seek information about potential additional victims.
Dianely Torres, 24, whose date of birth is listed as December 12, 2000, was taken into custody on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, by Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Major Crimes Detective Jordyn Batts. Torres faces nine counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material and five counts of Transmission of Material Harmful to Minors.

The investigation reportedly began in February when a School Resource Officer (SRO) received a complaint. A witness had observed Torres in her classroom massaging the head of a juvenile victim as the victim’s head rested in her lap. During the SRO’s initial inquiry into this incident, it was discovered that Torres had previously faced disciplinary action for using the communication platform “Discord” to message students.
MCSO Major Crimes Detective Batts took over the investigation. Through a search warrant executed on Discord and a search of the juvenile victim’s phone, detectives reportedly located nude photos of Torres that she had sent to the victim, as well as sexually explicit drawings created by Torres.

According to the MCSO, Detective Batts interviewed Torres, who allegedly admitted to being in a “dating” relationship with the juvenile victim. Torres reportedly stated that she and the juvenile had exchanged nude photos. Consenting to a search of her own phone, detectives located nine sexually explicit photos of the juvenile victim.
Torres was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail.
Given the alleged actions with this juvenile victim and the prior disciplinary history regarding communication with students on Discord, detectives believe there may be additional victims.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who believes they or someone they know may have been victimized by Dianely Torres to contact Detective Batts directly at (352) 368-3847.
