Following recent violent demonstrations targeting ICE and Border Patrol officers in California, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier issued a stern warning Thursday: Florida is no place for rioters or “doxers” attempting to intimidate law enforcement.
“Florida is the anti-riot state, and unlike California, we support law enforcement,” declared Attorney General Uthmeier, emphasizing the state’s unwavering commitment to protecting those who enforce immigration laws. He directly addressed the recent chaos in Los Angeles, where “leftist mobs” reportedly obstructed roadways, torched vehicles, and looted stores.

Uthmeier made it clear that any attempts to dox federal agents – publishing their personal information online with intent to harm – will be met with full force of the law. “If the left doxes these agents, we will have their backs,” he stated. “Whether you make the poor choice to riot or publish an agent’s personal information online to bring harm, you are committing a crime in Florida. We will find you and hold you accountable.”
Local law enforcement echoed the sentiment. Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey underscored the distinction between peaceful protest and violent acts. “Peaceful protest is part of our democracy and when it’s done right, we will make sure you have a safe environment to do it in!!” said Sheriff Ivey. “But if you let it turn violent, you’re gonna find out real quick what Brevard County is all about as the crap you see taking place in other parts of the country ain’t gonna happen here!!”

Florida Highway Patrol Colonel Gary Howze reinforced the state’s stance against sanctuary policies. “The only sanctuaries in Florida are to protect animals, not criminals,” said Colonel Howze. “Florida is not a sanctuary state.”
Larry Keefe, Executive Director of the State Board of Immigration Enforcement, reiterated Florida’s commitment to federal partners. “Here in Florida, we’re going to honor, respect and protect our federal partners and their families,” Keefe stated.
To bolster protection for agents, Attorney General Uthmeier announced a directive for the Florida Highway Patrol to partner with federal law enforcement. This initiative ensures that any agent or officer stationed in Florida whose private information is leaked online will have a direct line of communication with FHP leadership, who will conduct routine welfare checks on their residences.

In a move further solidifying its commitment to immigration enforcement, Florida has become the first state in the nation to be assigned a 287(g) liaison officer by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This partnership aims to strengthen Florida’s immigration enforcement efforts and provide a direct line of communication between ICE and state and local law enforcement agencies.
The message from Florida is unequivocal: Law enforcement will be supported, and violent, intimidating acts will not be tolerated.
